Review of Hellraiser (1987) by Lynn R — 03 Mar 2010
For a directorial debut, not bad. It's a good movie, but not really one that scares the crap out of you. This one is truly the only good one out of the entire series (which is true for most horror series in that the first is the best...but not all).
When watching it, you have to remember when this movie was made (80's) wherein there is not the shock-gore that you get today with movies in this genre. If you remember that fact as you watch it, it is an enjoyable flick from a director that is truly one of the best of the genre.
Fun ride.
