Review of Hello, Dolly! (1969) by Jonathan W — 02 Jan 2008
Barbra Streisand is a musical and comic genius, and her talents are on display here in "Hello, Dolly!", a lavish musical comedy co-starring the usually inept Matthau. Both funny and romantic, and with some excellent musical numbers, "Hello, Dolly!" is still one of Stresiand's least favored movies, mostly because some thought that the role did not suit her.
Still, she makes the most of the role and comes out on top as the hilariously divine Dolly Levi ... deleriously funny!
