Review of Hell or High Water (2016) by Orlando O — 25 Nov 2016
Hell or High Water is a well effective heist thriller film about two brothers robbing banks to save their family ranch. The film delivers great performances from Chris Pine, Ben Foster, and Jeff Bridges. The two brothers are written realistically enough making them feel ground like there actions on robbing a bank. Chris Pine plays a character that is not wanting to hurt people but is only trying to steal from the bank in order to save his ranch. Ben Foster plays the character that has his maniac moments and is a brute and mood swings towards anyone he encounters. The two are not professionals at robbing banks. They make mistakes, make errors that may leave traces behind for the sheriff to notice, and their plan on robbing a bank is usually last minute decision making. Thats what makes Hell or High Water stand out as a heist film that sways away from most hollywood blockbusters that end in guns blazing and wild car chases. The film is slow moving, showcasing these two brothers are trying to make money to save their land. While Jeff Bridges plays the character as a sheriff that is on a hunt for them.
Hell or High Water is a good thriller film and gives amazing performances from the casts and some simple heist thrills that delivers.
