Review of Heckler (2007) by Alan G — 06 Mar 2009
Yes, I understand that it is ironic to critique this film, but it has to happen. It started out as a hilarious and insightful look into the world of people heckling comedians. Lots of good footage, lots of great comebacks, etc. Then about 20 minutes into it it brought up the question, "What's the difference between a heckler and a critic?" And the term heckler was hardly uttered for the rest of the film. From then on out it essentially turned into one big "We have feelings too! Don't be so mean in your reviews!" argument.
I was, however, very entertained by all the bonus features of deleted/extended scenes. This movie would have been much better off without the soap box anti-critic message and rather been more on the lines of "Crazy shit that happened when Jamie Kennedy went on tour. And also some insight about hecklers." Long title. But much more fitting than calling this version of the film "Heckler".
