Review of Heckler (2007) by Joshua B — 17 Aug 2012
I hadn't ever left a review on this site until I saw this movie. The documentary skews heavily in the comedians' favor. Jamie Kennedy is a terribly whiny protagonist who does not lead the view to any conclusion besides that of 'Jamie Kennedy is a whiny bitch.'.
I watched hoping to see some snappy retorts from comedians but about 40 minutes in, the film begins to discuss the criticism establishment and its effects on their feelings. At this point, Kennedy becomes unbearable. His mistake of taking each review personally and trapping the obviously outgunned internet critics in front of the camera makes the view ask 'what the hell is wrong with this guy.'.
We get a glimpse of Kennedy's depression after his 'Son of the Mask' flop but someone should have put a stop to this documentary before it got started.
