Review of Heavy Metal (1981) by Julian T — 31 Dec 2011
Just as strange as I thought it would be, but I don't know if thats good or bad. I'm sure the animation was top of the line when this was made, but it certainly has not aged well. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to look at the movie as a whole, or to just watch each sub-story on a seperate basis, but in the end, it makes no sense whatsoever either way.
The writing is pretty terrible, and the stories are pretty lame. That said, there was something vaugely interesting about it. I can't really put my finger on it, but it was a little better than the crappy animation, script and stories would usually grade out.
I'll put it this way: if you like big animated boobs, crappy music, and Lord of the Rings, you might find this amusing.
