Review of Heaven's Gate (1980) by Michael Y — 27 Mar 2009

I didn't think this film is as bad as many say. It definitely has it's flaws, is definitely slow especially in the first half, and poorly shot/edited in some places. But, if you are willing to overlook those flaws, there is actually a pretty good story buried under there (loosely based on the historical Johnson County feud in Wyoming).

And, there are worse films that have come since that time, imho ("Batman and Robin" anyone?).
