Review of Heaven's Gate (1980) by Keenan S — 11 Oct 2012

I didn't know what to expect when I got this film. It had a notorious reputation, but was also described as being a love it, or hate it type of film. I took a big chance on it, especially since it clocks in at nearly four hours, but I'm glad I gave it a chance.

I was absolutely captivated by this film from beginning to end, and I never found it boring. I found the story and characters engaging, the music was fantastic, the set pieces were stunning, the battle scenes near the end of the film are thrilling, and its messages are still relevant to this day.

At least give this film one chance before writing it off.
