Review of Heavenly Creatures (1994) by Lorenzo V — 13 Apr 2009
Great acting but the story soon got boring (yes, yes, we get the picture - they're inseperable and crazy) and the violent murder was entirely gratuitous filmmaking. We knew 'Paul's' mother was killed by them so why so graphic? It was utterly shocking, even for somebody with a strong stomach!
I also can't help thinking that if this real life event had've happened in the US or UK, it never would've been made into a film because it just didn't have enough substance at all.
