My first film of Deepa Mehta, unfortunately, even reading plotline of her former work, Element Trilogy got more excitement than seeing Heaven On Earth. However, this film successfully practiced Magical Realism.
Although itâ??s not that impressive as another Magical Realism masterpiece, Frida (2002), directed by Julie Taymor and stars Salma Hayek, Heaven On Earth set up some kind of philosophical romance. It also showed how Indian deal with their difficulties under traditional condition from Deepa Mehtaâ??s point of view, and again, Deepa emphasized how Indian tradition value is in conflict with modern life and even cause problems.
