Review of Heaven Knows, Mr. Allison (1957) by Barry L — 21 Apr 2009
A wonderful movie with two perfect performances from beautiful Deborah Kerr and good old Bob Mitchum. This is a mix of several classic genres: War, romance and drama. The story is believeable and so are the emotions of the two characters.
The film compare and equal the rituals and the strong beliefs that control both the Roman Catholic Church and US Marine Corps. This produces some scenes with great dialouge and it is all directed with firm hands by John Huston, a master of the decade.
