Review of Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse (1991) by Peter A — 29 Jun 2008

It's hard not to give this film the same five stars that I gave the film of which the making is depicted. They explore essentially the same psychosis with essentially the same characters, even the same actors.

And they both do so with excellence (though not always clarity, for if there's one thing that psychosis is not it is not clear). A beautiful piece of work and a necessity for any aspiring filmmaker, film critic, or moviegoer.
