I saw this movie two years ago at the Toronto International Film Festival (with most of the actors and the director in attendance).... I'm not at all surprised that it took this long to be released because it was confusing.

.. it was attempting to be very Tarantino-esque (see: Resevoir Dogs & Pulp Fiction), by fiddling with going back and forth in the story(meaning skipping ahead in time and then going back)but missed the mark entirely becoming pretty confusing by half way through the film.

.. the only saving grace for this film would be the performances delivered by the actors. In particular, Orlando Bloom, who surprised me with his acting strength in the film as the character of Shy. Especially in the scene where he describes the sensuality of a woman's back.

In my opinion, this scene is the saving grace of the entire film, which, until this point, had been drab and bewildering... Zoe Saldana, who I usually can't stand was pretty good, and a notable performance from Bill Paxton as well.

..overall, just okay, not a must-see unless they completely re-tooled the version I saw.
