Review of Haven (2004) by Erin P — 26 May 2009
A great story told with a freshness like the Caribbean breeze its set in. Young lovers, Shy [Orlando Bloom] and Andrea [Zoe Saldana], are in a romeo & juliet type romance that is the center of other fueling schemes in the works on the horizon of a tropical haven, the Cayman islands.
As in real life, the characters in these events evnetually cross paths and create a spiral-down domino effect on paradise itself, eventually exposing it for what it really can be underneath. Parallel lives [lines] do gradually meet at a conjuntion, right? Bloom is terrific; Saldana is a trip; Mackie is a menace; and Paxton and Dillane are marvelous as a money launderers.
