Review of Hatchet II (2010) by Anthony B — 29 Aug 2010

Fantastic sequel to Adam Green's 2006 original, this one amps up both the violence and comedy of the first movie and the result in an absolute riot from start to finish. The majority of the cast have returned from the first movie including Tony todd in the role of Rev Zombie who has been given a much meatier role and the cult hero does not disappoint with an excellent performance.

Another plus point to the movie is the franchise debut of uber gorgeous scream-queen Daniel Harris who does the job perfectly as Marybeth. Hatchet II just like the first movie is a superb thowback to 80's slasher movies, Adam Green has already stated that he has no plans to venture back into the world of Victor Crowley but I can only hope that this is not the last we see of the Hatchet franchise.
