Review of Hatchet (2006) by Michael M — 02 Oct 2008

I'm not really sure where to start with this one. We rented it because it looked like it was going to be a no-brainer slasher movie and at least the violence would be funny, but even that took so long to start that by then I was ready for this experience to end.

I can almost appreciate the fact that they were trying to revive the classic slasher, but the way they went about doing it might have BURIED the classic slasher. I'm a big of fan as any of Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elm Street, but this didn't really compare.

Besides, Scream was a fantastic slasher film that could have revived the genre, it just seems like most of them sense then have devoted their time to be different, even if it doesn't work.
