While it may be a shining homage to the slashers of the past, Hatchet falls victim to the fact that while all the bad aspects of the film are done on purpose, it creates a horror film that, at most times, fails to present anything of quality.
...albeit, it is better than any slasher film that is being released at the time it was released.
