Review of Harry Brown (2009) by Derrick D — 11 May 2011
It's like the British version of Clint Eastwood's Gran Torino, minus, well, the Gran Torino. Frankly, I don't have any issue with Michael Caine. He does well in this movie as does Emily Mortimer and the rest of the cast.
The opening sequence is brilliantly shocking and spell-binding, but then the story just seems to track down that familiar path that Eastwood blazed a year before this movie came out. If you're in a bind, catch Torino, ditch Harry.
