Review of Harlan County U.S.A. (1977) by Erin B — 16 Dec 2009
This documentary is fantastic! It really opens your eyes to the injustice that was the backbone of the coal mining industry for so long. The most amazing part of this whole ordeal might be the involvement of the women (especially Lois Scott).
If not for the women, this strike would not have been successful. When (not if) you watch this movie, you must watch the special features (making of, etc.) to see the behind the scenes stuff!
