Review of Hardcore Henry (2015) by Greg B — 21 Apr 2016

"Hardcore Henry" is a movie adaptation of a famous video game. In the film, after a tragic accident, Henry is brought back to life by his mysterious wife and given robotic parts. His memory is jumbled but he knows that a telekinetic villain named Akon is hunting him down.

The special effects in the film are gripping, and there is nothing but high-octane thrills from beginning to end. Despite the campy entertainment value, I found the plot lacking and almost non-existent.

Henry inexplicably can kick ass and no backstory is given. It seems like everyone in Moscow is trying to kill him. The premise is original; bring told from a first-person perspective, but at times this makes the cinematography extremely bizarre.

I can safely say this film is unique, but I'm not sure if that's a good statement. I actually found the film more bizarre than good ------------------------------------------------------- C+.
