Review of Hardcore Henry (2015) by Darth V — 15 Aug 2018
This is what people mean about a "turn your brain off action flick". Except, if you DO pay attention, there are some goodies to catch your interest. The various transhumanist angles depicted were refreshing to see explored, even though that exploration was rather naive.
If they explored it optimally, it would've distracted from the gratuitous ultra violence we came here to see. I find that this movie might have some cult/camp potential. That said, I kind of wish there had been a LITTLE more choreography.
The fight sequences could've been more engaging if they showed a little more finesse. Yet somehow I feel that the chaos of it was sightly more believable than if our hero had been John Wick.
