Review of Hard Candy (2005) by Danielle K — 03 Jul 2012
When talking about Ellen Page, most people refer to Juno. After all, that is the role that has launched her into stardom. However, a few years previous, she starred in this wonderful little under-the-radar thriller.
She is positively superb in this, practically playing two characters in one film. Patrick Wilson is equally exquisite. This is a gripping movie and contains one of the most painful scenes that I, a male, have ever seen before.
It also isn't your typically predictable film. I seriously never knew what was gonna happen next. If you wanna see how great of an actress Ellen Page is, this is the film you must see.
