Review of Hard Boiled (1992) by Alvaro L — 26 Aug 2008
I wasn't sure what I would think of this film going into it. As the film began, I knew I would love it. As the film progressed, it just got more and more entertaining. The climax seemed to go on forever in all of its beautiful action-packed glory, but it still didn't seem long enough.
The fact that this is John Woo's last film from his Hong Kong years resonates throughout the film in it's dark humour and metaphorical allegories. This is a truly brilliant action film whose grittiness serves the betterment of the experience.
