Review of Hard Boiled (1992) by Steve R — 14 Dec 2008
Called Lat sau san taam in Chinese, directed by John Woo and starring Chow Yun Fat, this is one of those movies that has everything youâ??d expect looking back.
John Woo does his â??a gun in each handâ?? numerous times. It is fun to watch. Chow Yun Fat is Inspector Yuen a.k.a. Tequila who loses his partner to a drug lord and is forced by circumstances to work with an undercover cop who may or may not be a double agent for the Triad which is the drug gang that is moving into Hong Kong and that killed Tequilaâ??s partner.
Got it?
Itâ??s funny where it should be and tongue in cheek where it needs to be. The action sequences are jaw dropping and the gunplay is totally John Woo at his best. The story is above average and actually will keep you interested.
This is best seen with the guys or that girl friend who is into guy flicks.
Check it.
