Review of Happythankyoumoreplease (2011) by Mohd Firdaus A — 22 Jan 2011
Pretty much your run-of-the-mill independent intertwining-stories relationship drama. Nothing particularly unique about it, but still engaging in large part due to the cast. Josh Radnor (who also directed) plays a slight variation on his character of Ted from How I Met Your Mother, so if you like him there, you'll like him here; Kate Mara is solid as usual (and who knew she could sing?!). But the most pleasant suprise here was Tony Hale. Often cast as an idiot or a nerd, he is likable, believable, and more grounded here, and you really root for his character.
An admirable first effort for Radnor - I'm interested to see more from him, though hopefully a little less "indie".
