Review of Happythankyoumoreplease (2011) by Jiana W — 24 Jul 2012
This movie wasn't all that great. I wasn't very interested in the main character or his courting of Mississippi or his under-emphasized budding friendship with Rasheen. I figured this movie would be a slightly more serious version of "Big Daddy"-- a confirmed bachelor unexpectedly taking care of a little kid and growing to care about him more than he thought he would. We know he lives with Sam, as we are frequently reminded. So he's always in the background. There isn't too much of Sam/Rasheen screen-time, though, in my opinion.
That said, there were some things about this movie that were endearing and cute. Sam #2 and Annie's relationship journey is easily the sweetest and most touching couple I've seen on the screen in a very long time. Too bad they're not the main couple.
