Review of Hansel & Gretel (2007) by Sergio M — 12 Oct 2010
It ticks most of the boxes, it's obvious that the makers have studied in depth the world of fairy tales: the forest, the mirror (in this case a door) that leads to 'the other side', the cellar, the labyrinth, the power of imagination.
.. I really like some of the imaginery, too, specially the pram full of doll heads and the human doll crumbling to pieces. nonetheless, I can't help but feeling something is not quite right when the film actually feels rather long, and it's not even 2hrs.
