Definitely not as good as The Silence of the Lambs, but it has its moments. First of all, Anthony Hopkins is of course brilliant as Hannibal Lecter. I mean, this is the role that defines him - he was born to play this character.

Furthermore, Julianne Moore, while not as good Clarice Starling as Jodie Foster, was still a likable actor and her performance improved towards the end - or I had gotten used to her at that point. But, the story isn't that strong in this film.

There just isn't any kind of real tension between Starling and Lecter. They play their parts and Lecter is as charmingly homicidal as always and Clarice is as incorruptible as she was before, but.

.. I didn't feel any kind of tension, man. I enjoyed the characters, but not their story. So while this is a good film and I enjoyed watching it, it isn't a legend like The Lambs was. A shame, but what can you do.
