Review of Hang 'em High (1968) by Matthew L — 18 Mar 2009
Clint Eastwood's first American-made western borrows alot stylistically from his Italian-made westerns. It doesn't quite equal those films, but it's still very good in its own right. A remarkable role for Eastwood who plays a conflicted lawman struggling between morality and seeking revenge against the group of men who wrongly tried to lynch him.
It's interesting to see the mix of revenge and morality in this film. A classic western and a very enjoyable and thought-provoking one at that.
