Review of Halloween: Resurrection (2002) by Butterz B — 26 Feb 2010
This was the first Halloween I ever saw, and it didn't exactly encourage me to see the rest, but I saw Halloween 1-3 back in '04 and I finally decided to review them in the order I watched them.
First of all, it was a great concept that the movie put in place, what with the camera's on the actors heads showing a first person view of the movie, but overall it was poorly delivered. The cameras are sometimes blurry and out of focus, which I know is supposed to add to the 'scares', but overall I just found it bloody annoying.
Secondly, the acting is ridiculous! All the actors over-exaggerate, scream like a banshee, and deliver cheese ball sex lines that may be trying to turn the viewer on, but they really do not work one bit.
Thirdly, Micheal Myers wont die! And I am not referring to the never ending sequels, but the fact that he dies twice in this movie, and keeps coming back! First he is hung by the neck, and survives, then he is electrified and killed in a burning house, and guess what? HE SURVIVES! It really starts to piss you off after a while.
Fourth, The actors wont die! All I can sat here is this, a chick gets a knife in the ankle, and runs away like it was just a scratch, later she gets sliced in the same spot, but no, this invincible woman cannot be stopped, casually walking away from Micheal. Then there is the black guy that gets stabbed in the back 3 TIMES!!! He later comes back in full health to save the day, WTF?!?!?!
Fifth, The movie is a bore fest, the kills are un-imaginative, and the storyline, no, what am I talking about, there is no storyline!
Overall, if you are having a night with your mates and just watching movies all night, then you may find this movie enjoyable if you are both really drunk and high.
16/100.
