Halloween III: Season of the Witch is now without a doubt considered to be a cult-classic, and for good reason. It's strange and unrelated to rest of the series but on it's own it's classic piece of 80's horror/sci-fi cinema.
If you wrote this one off before, give it another chance and judge it on it's own merits unrelated to Halloween franchise.
