Review of Halloween II (1981) by Issa G — 04 Jan 2018
Rick Rosenthal tries to recreate the menacing atmosphere and constant, slow-burning tension of John Carpenter's original - and one could argue that for the most part he does succeed. But next to the suspense, "Halloween II" is clearly a dumber offering, what with the plot holes, flimsy twist and overall exaggeration - oh and a load of idiotic new characters we do not care about.
It's a good horror movie and an inoffensive sequel but definitely no classic.
