Review of Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989) by Ineedausernamen — 05 Jul 2017
Unfortunately, Halloween 5 has one of my favorite scenes from the entire series. The scene where Jamie reaches out to Michael as he sheds a tear, exposing whatever humanity he might still possess- and then he goes ape****.
But even with such a touching scene, one that makes me rethink Michael for a moment, it's not enough to redeem this overwhelmingly sucky sequel. And neither can the outstanding performances of Donald Pleasance (as always) and Danielle Harris (like in H4).
It's not scary, it's often boring, and the weird freaking guy in the black that keeps popping up everywhere, what's his problem? The movie occasionally doesn't make sense, but don't let that dissuade you from seeing it.
Let the redundant plot and boring characters drive you off, and better yet (or worse yet I should say), let the sequel, Halloween: Curse turn you off of it, because if you see this waste of time, you might as well see that one, and that one is possibly the second worst of the series- and that's saying something! Here's my final warning.
Don't watch Halloween 5 or 6. Not because of the pure evil that is Michael Myers who haunts these bloodied wastes, no. They both suck. So don't watch them.
