Review of Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989) by Petros T — 17 Jan 2018
Danielle Harris is once more very expressive and convincing and scenes such as Mikey and Spitz's deaths are memorable, but H5 is actually the first in the series to offer visibly below-par suspense.
To put it simply, it just isn't that scary: it fails to strike up the franchise's trademark constant menacing atmosphere and ends up disjointed and slightly boring. Plus the new characters have zero weight and there's only so many ominous phrases Loomis can say about Michael before it becomes banal.
