Review of Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988) by Mark N — 18 Apr 2012
The Return Of Michael Myers, set 10 years after the original Hallowe'en is in my opinion the best of the sequels. It has a good plot, and some good acting from a young Danielle Harris and Donald Pleasence, once again superb in his role as Dr. Samuel Loomis. There were shocks, and in parts tension which reminded me of the original, as well as a great twist at the end.
I enjoyed the movie overall, I felt like once again the franchise was living up to it's place amongst the greatest horror series' of all time. Though I did have slight problems with some parts. Whenever there was a scene in which Myers was close to killing any of the main characters, they seemed to escape very easily, with minimal effort. I prefer to see a good fight personally.
Other than a few minor quibbles, this is a good horror movie. I would recommend it to any fan of slasher movies, definitely the best sequel to Hallowe'en.
