Review of Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988) by Matt D — 07 Jan 2015
This movie would be significantly better had they managed to get Michael's mask looking right. For whatever reason, the one they chose to use here isn't nearly as unsettling or spooky as the one seen in the first two films the character appears in.
Otherwise, this movie is essentially a very standard 80s slasher flick. It's not great but clearly doesn't have any pretensions to be either. It is fun when it needs to be and has enough jolts to make for an entertaining (and sometimes unintentionally hilarious) horror flick.
"Dammit, the door is metal!".
"WHAT DOES THAT MEEEEAAAANNN?!?!".
