Review of Halloween (2018) by Patrick C — 17 Oct 2018
Although the new Halloween movie pays homage to the original through music and cinematography, I was sad to see that it totally ignored the 2nd movie in the franchise. In my opinion the 2nd film was one of the best in horror history and to ignore that here was slightly damaging.
The story kept me interested throughout but where it lacked at was telling us why Michael is who he is. This may not have been a huge factor if it wasn't for the fact that the question was asked several times within the film by 3 of the main characters but still went unanswered.
In all however, I would say Halloween hits as a decent holiday slasher film and could revive the franchise if Blumhouse and Jamie Lee decide to go that route.
