Halloween 2018 assembles all the right ingredients, though it doesn't have a clue about calculating ratios. What could have been a powerful story about a resurgent Strode family becomes tedious slog, bogged down by silly diversions, unearned character moments, and alarmingly lazy storytelling.
If this is indeed Jamie Lee Curtis's franchise swan song, it's one hell of a depressing tune.
