Review of Halloween (2007) by Andrew D — 19 Jun 2012
This is the second time that I've seen this movie. The first time I saw this, I HATED it. But that was because I was looking at it through the glasses of a Halloween fan from 1978. This time, I watched it and accepted it for what it was.
I must say that I was wrong about my opinions the first time I saw this (however, my opinion still stands for Sherri-Moon Zombie. She's a TERRIBLE actress). The best part of the movie however was showing how Michael became who he is as a scary killer.
Everything after that is pretty much the original film on fast forward with a lot of blood and gore. That is also one thing I could have done without. Mr. Zombie constantly uses blood and gore to scare his audience.
However, everything else seemed pretty good, a nice homage to the original Halloween, and I'm glad that he used John Carpenter's original score. Worth a glimpse for Halloween fans to celebrate a classic from the 70's.
Just beware, the gore is EVERYWHERE!
