Review of Halloween (2007) by Joe D — 30 Jul 2012
While I found it intriguing that Rob Zombie wanted to explore the motives behind Michael Myers transformation into a human cyborg of a serial killer, I don't believe it was necessary. What made Myers scary in the '78 version of Hallween is that we don't know why he is driven to kill.
He IS just pure evil. He is the Boogeyman. With that being said, I found the first half of the film to be interesting in studying the motivations behind Myers' transformation. The second half is bogged down with unlikeable leads, idiotic dialogue and gratuitous violence.
