Review of Halloween (2007) by Wesley W — 30 Nov 2013
Another worthless remake that as usual fails to live up to the original. I will start with what I liked and what I hated about this remake. I thought Daeg Faerch did good as young Michael Myers, Sheri Moon Zombie did fine as Michael's mother, and in my opinion Malcolm McDowell played a good Samuel Loomis.
I liked the new Halloween costume and mask and the costume designers did a fine job at giving Michael Myers a new and refreshing look. Now I will start with what I hated about the film. It kinda bothered me at times at ways the movie was filmed, you would get weird low camera angles at times and whenever Michael is killing somebody, the camera has to shake so much for some reason.
I felt that Rob Zombie needed lessons on how to film a movie right. During the second half of the movie we are introduced to Scout Taylor-Compton as Laurie Strode and first off I didn't mind her that much but she doesn't have the likeabilityness that Jamie Lee Curtis had in the same role in the original, it is the sequel where she gets into the depths of hell of unlikeabilityness.
When she would be talking to her friends, the film would then start to have terrible terrible cringe worthy dialogue and I would think to tell them to shut up. In the end, this remake disappoints people that expected this to live up to the 1978 classic.
