Review of Hacksaw Ridge (2016) by Greyfox — 12 Nov 2016
Saving Private Ryan and Hacksaw Ridge both have the ability to affect you long after you watch them. Hacksaw Ridge affects you in a particular way because it was presented to us through the story telling mind of Mel Gibson, who is one of the greatest directors of our time.
Hacksaw Ridge also sticks with you because it captures the sharp contrast between daily life and the field of battle. I felt a deeper sympathy for our veterans than I have ever felt after watching Hacksaw.
It's a powerful movie and it deserves a watch.
