Review of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) by Giorgio G — 20 May 2017

The first one wasn't all that bad and had a few laughs to offer, but this one is only for kids. Sure there are incredible visual arts and effects which blow your mind, but they are in such a rapid flow that neither your eye nor your brain can really take them in completely, and after a while your mind simply gets overflown with those overtopped, ridiculously exaggerated images and lets you watch it all more and more like a zombie.

In fact, each time there weren't any explosions anymore I simply nodded off during the senseless, brain dead conversations. But the worst about this flick is, right from the very, very, very, very start, driving one extremely, horribly mad and making one absolutely annoyed, even letting you wiggle in your seat from side to side in anger, hoping it would finally finish, is that overstretched, endless, childish, puerile, trivial, ridiculous scene (are you getting my drift) of Baby Groot taking up various minutes of the opening part, which is supposed to be a fighting scene, but only shows that little annoying creature dancing in the foreground.

In fact, huge parts of the movie are concentrating on the little tree, making this flick something for 3-6 year old to watch. Summary: Great FX and IT graphics, zero story, forced ridiculous, only slightly funny dialogues, and a tremendously bothersome focus on that Baby Groot character.

That "I am Groot" phrase, which, each time, can only be interpreted by the crew to its different meanings, lost its funniness by the end of the first movie. Riding on it even into the titles at the end makes it seem quite retarded.
