Review of Grudge Match (2013) by M. C — 18 Oct 2015
I want to dream of all the hookers you deprived me of...
A pair of 60 year old boxers that fought twice, each winning once, never had the third and final grudge match. They bump into each other at a video game making event. A brawl ensures and a promoter takes it as a chance to get the fight in the books. As they train, their past and why the fight never took place unfolds.
"I'm just doing my job.".
"Yeah, that's what my Boy Scout master said.".
Peter Segal, director of 50 First Dates, Anger Management, Get Smart, The Longest Yard, Tommy Boy, Nutty Professor II: The Klumps, and Naked Gun 33 and 1/3, delivers Grudge Match. The storyline for this is very mediocre with just a few clever lines here and there. The acting is also mediocre and the cast includes Sylvester Stallone, Robert De Niro, Kim Bassinger, Anthony Anderson, and Ireland Baldwin.
"I can get you a part in Hangover 4!".
"I'm listening.".
I DVR'd this a long time ago when this was recommended to me as funny from family and friends. This was below average with only a couple good zingers here and there. There wasn't enough in this and the comedic content was disappointing. I recommend skipping this.
"Did you fart on me?".
