Review of Grizzly Man (2005) by Lyndon G — 20 Dec 2009
This movie will start a discussion if you see it with a couple people. Werner Herzog makes these sort of artsy, elegiac comments in the narration (like John Malkovich in one of his pretentious but mesmerizing soliloquies, but not as mesmerizing) that are fair enough and don't get in the way of Timothy Treadwell's character or mystique.
The man didn't make a lot of sense, but it's easy to understand his sentiment, and it's strange and fascinating (but not so strangely fascinating, as the "fascinating" is not a surprise, whether you think it's a primarily voyeuristic pull or not) to watch his video diaries with grizzlies in the wild.
