I love love love Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. I also love Bill Murray, and while I don't think he does HS Thompson perfectly, neither does Johnny Depp. I appreciate both takes. Where the Buffalo Roam is fun but I think not quite the ideal tone: it has more of a frat-boy spirit than either what I know about Thompson or what I like myself.
There are some classic scenes though, a number of them even. I'd see this again. It's a pity that the original soundtrack got mangled by copyrights.
