Review of Gringo Trails (2014) by Morgan Z — 30 Sep 2017
The film, "Gringo Trails", directed by Pegi Vail is a documentary focused on tourism and how it affects different environments. The film's main focus is to educate the public as well as promote sustainable tourism.
The film shows specific examples from places like the Bolivian amazon. It shows how tourism can bring disaster to not only the environment, but the people living there as well. The film was very interesting because it showed many different viewpoints on the subject including, travelers, backpackers, novelists and also people living in the tourist area.
This allowed me to see everyone's opinion and ultimately show me why tourism can be such an issue. I recommend this movie to everyone because it really puts things in perspective, and allows you walk away with a different way of viewing things.
Hopefully this film can open the eyes of many tourists and promote safe, sustainable tourism.
