Review of Grey Gardens (2009) by Josh K — 06 Jan 2008
A very dreary film. Two Bouviers--mother and daughter--live in squalor in a run down country house. They are in their own world, trying to reimagine the days when they were young and somewhat glamorous.
I did not find their self-aborbed lives particularly interesting, and clearly the film is asking the viewer to laugh at the disconnect between their affluent pasts and their oblivious, current state.
