Review of Greenberg (2010) by Lee G — 15 Feb 2011
This film is a shining example of Ben Stiller's acting abilities beyond comedy. While he plays a largely unlikable character, we feel for Roger Greenberg's torment and accept the fact that he is trying to change his life.
Seeing him interact with Florence (Greta Gerwig) is painful to watch most of the time, as he moves around her without care. But Florence sees through that, sees the interesting guy Roger can be if he let himself just be.
This is a good character study with great performances from both Stiller and Gerwig.
