Review of Green Street Hooligans (2005) by Joe H — 26 Aug 2012
This is woeful.
Lets get this straight, Americans aren't hard. When they try to be, albeit under the protection of a crap Mockney accent, it makes it even funnier.
Watching Frodo scrabble about giving it the big one is borderline hysterical.
I think the film misses a beat of that culture completely. I really don't buy an American managing to wangle his way into West Ham's firm just because he had a pint with them. It's their upbringing, a collective of likeminded locals passionate about theuir heritage that makes a football firm.
If I went over to America and have a cheerful corn dog with them I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be accepted into that world in an afternoon.
Jokers.
